Beans and quinoa offer a unique twist on the traditional rice and beans dish.
INGREDIENTS

1 lb Ground Beef Chuck 83/17

1/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar, Pure Cane

1 cup tomato sauce

1/2 tsp Kosher Salt

1/2 tsp Soy Sauce

1/2 tsp Red Wine Vinegar

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1 cup Onions
-
1 cup Red Bell Peppers
-
1/2 cup Carrot
-
1/2 cup Zucchini
-
6 100% Whole Grain Hotdog Buns
DIRECTIONS

Place ground chuck (choose a lean-to-fat ratio of 90/10 or 85/15) in a slow cooker, and break into small pieces with a spoon.

Add brown sugar, tomato sauce, kosher salt, soy sauce, red wine vinegar and garlic powder; stir to combine.

Add onion, red bell pepper, carrot and zucchini.

Stir again to combine.

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours. Serve on toasted whole-grain buns.
