The ingredients for this slow cooker Sloppy Joe can be prepared in advance and frozen until you're ready to go! Packed with protein and selenium, a trace mineral that supports immunity and controls the thyroid function, the ground turkey used for this recipe allows you to indulge in this seemingly decadent dish without feeling guilty after your meal. The filling mixture contains an abundance of veggies - from carrots to onions - and the flavorful sauce includes apple cider vinegar, a favorite with many health benefits.



  • 1 1/2 lb Lean Ground Turkey
  • 3 medium raw carrots
  • 1/2 cup canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 1/2 medium White Onion
  • 1/3 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcester Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt, Iodized
  • 1/2 tbsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock


1 Prepare all ingredients: chop carrots; dice bell pepper and onion.
2 Combine all ingredients, except for the chicken stock, in a large freezer bag and freeze until you are ready to prepare a meal.
3 Defrost freezer bag overnight in the refrigerator or soak in warm water for 1 hour before adding to slow cooker.
4 Place all ingredients in slow cooker and add the chicken stock (or replace with water), and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours.
