You can easily buy almond milk at the store, but why not make your own? With fewer additives, homemade almond milk is healthier than the kind you can buy. Almond milk is great for those who follow a plant-based diet, and it's rich in vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that can help to prevent against cancer.

  • 1 cup Almonds, Natural Raw
  • 2 cups Water, tap, drinking

1 Add 1 cup of almonds to a Mason jar and fill to the brim with water. Cover and soak overnight.
2 Drain the water from the mason jar.
3 Peel the almonds (optional).
4 Add the almonds to a blender along with 2 cups of clean water.
5 Blend for 2 minutes on high speed.
6 Strain through a cheesecloth into a bowl, squeezing out all the liquid from the almonds.
7 Sweeten with maple syrup or agave if you like your almond milk a little sweet (optional).
