Save 200 calories and $2 with this tasty homemade pumpkin spice latte. BUT, a grande Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte with 2% milk contains 380 calories and almost 50 grams of sugar! What’s (almost) even more disturbing is that the Daily Mail Online recently reported that there is zero actual pumpkin in Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte! Also, keep in mind that a grande Starbucks latte will set you back about $4, depending where you live. Luckily, you can make this delicious and natural homemade pumpkin spice latte, save yourself money, AND make it dairy-free and vegan (if you so desire).
INGREDIENTS
SERVES 1
-
2 oz Double Espresso Shot
-
1 cup Organic Unsweetened Almond Vanilla Milk
-
4 tbsp Pumpkin Puree Organic
-
1 tbsp Real Maple Syrup
-
1/4 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
-
1/8 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract
DIRECTIONS
1
NOTE: If you don’t have an espresso maker, you can use 4-6 ounces of very strong coffee.
2
This will make one grande-sized latte.
3
When you have your coffee ready, add the pumpkin, spices, vanilla extract, and maple syrup, to a mixing glass or blender and mix together. When smooth, remove from blender and pour into mug.
4
Froth your almond milk using the frother on your espresso machine OR (if you don't have an espresso machine) put your milk into a saucepan and cook at medium heat until it's simmering. When it simmers, pour it into the blender and blend on high until it gets frothy.
5
Pour milk into coffee mug carefully using a spoon to hold the froth back and then using the spoon to place the froth on top of the drink.
